Courses for international students
The Language Centre provides teaching in English, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, French, Swedish, German, Finnish, Russian and communication skills in Otaniemi and for the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Arabianranta, Helsinki.
Most beginners' courses are taught in Finnish, but the intermediate and advanced courses are usuall y taught in the language studied. There are also some groups taught in English.
If you are not a degree student at the University, you may choose any courses appropriate to your skill level.
Exchange students are encouraged to take particularly activating English courses and basic Finnish courses. Of course, if space is available, you may also register for advanced courses that fulfil the language requirement of the University. For a list of such courses, please see under 'Foreign language requirement'. Please note that on these courses, however, preference will be given to degree students.
If you wish to study a language other than Finnish or English and do not speak Finnish, please contact the lecturer in charge for suitable courses.
